Hi friends of sunshine and laughter,
the page is finally live. Wohoo! I am slowly filling it all up with my information that I have already gathered. Let me know if you find something that might interest me.
I feel like we are in difficult times right now. The work load that we all have to fullfill is increasing day by day. The corresponding pay however is not changing. To relax our overwhelmed minds from work, we are presented with a variety of options of escapism, namely social media, that make us numb and unthinking. As we have little free time we more often than not choose the most comfortable, easiest and efficient way to get food and other conveniences.
I think with all the wealth and progress that (especially western) society developed in the not so recent past, it mostly benefits a very small percentile of the world population. Most have to suffer from the consequences of it. But instead of fighting against an unfair system that redistributes worth to a selected few, we numb ourselves to not be anymore overwhelmed – by overwhelming us even more with a plethera of information and “content”.
I would love for us all to escape the hamster wheel, not just live reactionary to the world, not be overwhelmed, not choose the comfortable option every time. I know that this is going to mean uncomfort and displeasment and in some areas going back in time. But we are smarter now and I would feel like we can combine a nature first approach with our technologies that we have developed. And we have centuries of philosophical thinking to back us up in a pursuit to find a solution that benefits all.
That’s why I think Solarpunk is a archivable end goal. Maybe not in our lifetime. But we got to start somewhere. So I am going to do my darnest to get us towards that direction. With community, effort and love we can get a whole lot further.
I’m Theresa and I am here for exchange and collaboration.
